About KIPP Wonder Academy

KIPP St. Louis is a growing network of free, open-enrollment, public charter schools offering a choice to families and a college-preparatory education to children in St. Louis city. Its mission is to serve as a catalyst for education reform by establishing and supporting a world-class network of public schools that develop in all of our students the knowledge, skills, character, and pursuit of excellence necessary to succeed in high-quality high schools and colleges and the world beyond. KIPP St. Louis currently educates over 2,000 students and at full growth, will educate nearly 3,600 students and hundreds of alumni.

Partnership with SouthSide Early Childhood Center

After joining the St. Louis Pre-K Cooperative in 2020, SouthSide opened 2 preschool classrooms at KIPP: Wonder Academy. The partnership was so successful that two additional preschool classrooms were added in 2021, expanding the program to serve 80 preschoolers across four classrooms. In 2025, two more classrooms were added, increasing capacity to serve 113 preschoolers. The work of the St. Louis Pre-K Cooperative is rooted in the notion that the St. Louis community can collectively work to deploy existing state pre-K funding through innovative and collaborative approaches. Through this partnership, staff are a part of the SouthSide team. Curriculum, classrooms, environment, and teacher ratios are the same as the Jefferson/Main location.

Currently, there are 6 preschool rooms at KIPP: Wonder Academy in partnership with SouthSide, serving a total of 113 children.
