A New Chapter for Outdoor Learning at SouthSide!

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news —our brand-new Nature Scape is officially open!

This beautiful, dynamic outdoor space has been thoughtfully designed to inspire imagination, movement, and connection with nature. From natural climbing structures and garden beds to sensory-rich play areas, the Nature Scape is more than a playground—it’s an extension of the classroom where children can explore, learn, and grow in the fresh air.

This project has been a true community effort, and we are incredibly grateful to our partners who made it possible:

Thank you to Purina, whose generous support helped fund the first phase of this project. Their investment in outdoor learning is helping our children thrive in a space designed just for them.

Thank you to PNC and the Grow Up Great initiative, which awarded SouthSide a grant to support early childhood education through projects like this one. Their commitment to young learners is helping build strong foundations for lifelong success.

And a huge thank you to Custom Foodscaping, the visionary team that brought our dreams to life. Their creative planning and sustainable approach to landscaping turned an ordinary space into something extraordinary.

Our children are already enjoying the new Nature Scape—digging, planting, observing, and discovering. We know that outdoor experiences like these help children build confidence, curiosity, and a deep connection to the world around them.

And this is just the beginning! We’re looking forward to continuing the development of this space in future phases, and we can’t wait to see how it grows right alongside our students.
